Disclosure

One of the reasons I started Standard of Value was to provide independent reviews of products and services marketed to and used by appraisers (like me) in their practices. And a Federal Trade Commission policy requires bloggers (like me) to clearly disclose any freebies or payments they receive from companies for reviewing those products and services.

So here is my FTC disclosure.

  • I tell my readers when a product has been sent to me, or I have been given access to a service, for use or review by its creator. Otherwise, I’ve purchased the product or service because I think it’s useful or interesting for my practice.
  • If you represent a company with a product or service that you think I should look at, email me to have it considered for review. Accepting a product or service does not guarantee a review and coverage may or may not be positive. Reviews of products and services I receive will disclose their source and be kept by Burkert Valuation Advisors, LLC for use in the practice.
  • All advertisements on this site are clearly ads to be clicked on. I may earn a commission whenever a visitor purchases an item through an affiliate link.

And here is a list of my current relationships.

  • I am an instructor for NACVA’s training development team.
  • I write for The Value Examiner, Business Valuation Update, and Financial Valuation & Litigation Expert.
  • I may use Amazon affiliate links to point to books I’ve reviewed.
